FAQ

  • We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Choice PPO, and Aetna insurance plans.

Your health insurance plan may cover all or a portion of services received. Our Clinical Care Coordinator will do her best to verify your benefits prior to your first session, but we still encourage you to contact your insurance provider to confirm your mental health benefits.

If out-of-network insurance is used, full payment is due at time of service. We can provide you with a monthly statement to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Please note, we are not in-network with any Medicaid plans (including but not limited to Aetna Betterhealth & Blue Cross Community Health) and cannot accept Medicaid-enrolled clients.

Please call your insurance provider to inquire about your out-of-network benefits and reimbursement process.

  • Yes, we follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure the privacy of clients’ information and the content of sessions. However, there are some legal and ethical limitations to confidentiality. Your therapist will discuss this with you in more detail during your first session.

  • We are currently offering sessions both in-person and online, yet this is subject to change based on state regulations as we continue navigating the pandemic.

During the intake process we will determine your needs and help you decide if in-person or virtual sessions are the best fit. If you attend an in-person therapy session, please note that you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will be required to provide your vaccination card prior to your in-office session. As a reminder, we follow safety protocols in office to help maintain a healthy environment.

  • Therapy is not a once-size-fits-all model. Our therapists adjust to each person’s needs, goals and symptoms and will evaluate your progress and treatment goals throughout therapy. The length of time in treatment will depend on your motivation, the therapist’s theoretical orientation, and improvement in symptoms. We will also provide community resources and alternate treatment modalities to complement the work you will do with your therapist.

  • No, our practice is specialized in adult counseling, and we work with clients 18 years and older. If you need a referral for a local therapist to work with children/adolescents and families, we would be happy to provide that.
